Anthea and I have been to Ixia 3 times
before we decidied to get
married here as I am a keen windsurfer and Ixia is fantastic for that in
the
summer months.
After browsing the web we came across Exquisite Weddings and the
decision
was made. For those couples who are thinking of using Exquisite I can
assure you, you won't be dissapointed! Lyndsey was excellent and
completely
professional all the way through our planning. She answered any concerns
or
queries we may have had straight away and took all of the stress and
hard
work away.
I know most people opt for Lindos but I must say we were more than happy
with our choice of staying at the Amathus in Ixia where we also had our
wedding breakfast. Upon arriving we were up-graded to a family suite
with
stunning views over the bay which was ideal as it was split over two
levels
and had two bathrooms with loads of space for the dress, suits etc.
After meeting Angela for our meeting we were completely put at ease with
her
friendly and professional manner. Next she introduced us to the
Operations
Manager Stefanos who was also brilliant. He kindly arranged for us to be
upgraded again for our wedding night to one of their brand new Elite
suites
which was fabulous with its own private pool and terrace! He also
arranged
a champagne toast with canapes by the waterfall after the ceremony which
was
all on the house!
On the day the weather was gorgeous as is usual in Rhodes and all our
guests, (40 in total) were completely blown away by the beautiful
setting of
the Filerimos Monastery which is only about 20 mins away on a coach. The
views from under the cross are stunning and we have some amazing photos
to
help us remember our big day. (Please feel free to browse through them).
We chose to have our wedding breakfast outside by the 11th floor pool
which
has great views and gorgeous sunsets. Stefanos made sure we weren't
disappointed with the decorations and put little gazebos over the tables
which was a nice touch. We chose to have a playlist from our ipod
instead
of a DJ or band and he organised the speakers, amps, lights etc so that
our
Best Man was able to just plug it in and press play. He even did our
table
plan for us.
All in all, it was a fabulous day and night and we are so glad we chose
to
get married abroad and especially glad that we chose Exquisite Weddings
Lindos to look after the planning. You won't be dissapointed! |
